Congrats Daniel.....its not too bad huh!
The clattering however could be bad or just an adjustment.
If you have a feeler guage...small metal strips in thousanths of an inch.
measure the valve clearance.....it should be.003 to .005 in. clearance....intake AND exhaust.
then adjust as neccessary.
If you dont know how to check clearance do as follows: get .005 in. feeler guage....push blade into cylinder head between rocker arms and valve stem tops...it should barely go in. If it goes in "easy", then loosen locknut on rocker arm and the adjust with center screw.
This will fix your clattering sound.....
This sounds just like what my bike did, the cam ate through the rocker arms and and caused excess clearance.
I adjusted the clearance and within a week, the cam ate through the rocker arms again and clearance was excessive again...If this happens, then the oil supply to the cylinder head is not getting there, check the oil pump
That is why the bike runs in spurts. The clearance is not correct. And trust me man, the EXACT same thing that you have been explaining to me is what made me lose my bike.
Try It, Justin
